OPENING MUSOLLA CEREMONY

Opening ceremony of our new musolla is organized to introduce the residents of Mahallah Safiyyah to the new musolla with the aim to encourage the residents to come to musolla everyday. During the night, the ceremony completed with congregational prayer from Maghrib to Isha' followed by 'bacaan yassin' and hajat prayers. According to one authentic hadith said, " The Muslim is a brother to another Muslim. He does not wrong him, nor surrender him. Whoever fulfill the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs. Whoever relives a Muslim from distress, Allah will relive him from distress on the Dy of Resurrection. Whoever covers the faults of a Muslim, Allah will cover his faults on the Day of Resurrection." This verse emphasizes on the sense of brotherhood in Islam which plays a significant element in Muslim society to bring Islam great again.

MAHALLAH SAFIYYAH: INTERBLOCK CLEANLINESS & BEAUTIFICATION COMPETITION

Cleanliness is next to Godliness is a widespread proverb which means maintenance of cleanliness lead a person toward goodness and humanity. One of community service programs that I had join is Mahallah Safiyyah: Inter-Block Cleanliness and Beautification Competition which was held early on this semester. The activities consist of cleaning and beautify the toilets and pantries, planting trees, managing the information board and others. What I have learned through this program is, we should not 100% depending on the cleaner to clean up the toilets. Cleanliness is the responsibility of everyone and we need to maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the surroundings and themselves. Cleanliness is a virtue which should be promoted among people of all age group and status to get complete command over the cleanliness. Plus, in Islam did said that, "Kebersihan separuh dari Iman." Community service has so many benefits including improving our health and happiness. It should be fun and not a chore. Getting involved in your local community, helping local people and causes, can be inspiring. We can also make new friends and develop new skills. Sometimes, people don’t value community service work especially in my community. Plus, many young people nowadays consider it as a waste of time and resources.

EDUCARE PROJECT "FROM US TO THE KIDS"

EDUCARE project was one of the programs organized by us, MRC Mahallah Safiyyah during this semester. This program was handle on every weekend along the month of March. The activities involved painting the wall, landscaping, fixing the facilities and others. And, I'm a little bit upset because the participation of students decreased weekly. Maybe because they cannot conceive the fact that someone can work without remuneration or a salary. There are three elements that permitted me to succeed in life through volunteering: passion, determination and patience. Volunteering has helped me to become a job creator not a job seeker. Even if you have the diploma from the best college in the world, it is not enough because what matters most is your skills, your talent. The best way to discover who you are in order to integrate yourself in the society is to volunteer. Volunteering does not only allow you to offer your services, but to learn and discover new things and improve your skills. One secret in volunteer work is to avoid thinking about money because that is where the problem is. Young people expect to be paid as they are volunteering. Indeed, EDUCARE project was a success and I did improved my painting skill too!
